WHY CAMP QUALITY?

You've probably heard me say that the things that treat the heart, mind and soul of anyone who suffers from cancer can go a long way in helping save their lives. Camp Quality does exactly that; they treat the heart, the mind and the spirit of children battling cancer, giving them something to do outside of the hospitals, doctors, treatments and needles for an entire week. Something as simple as face painting, a petting zoo, horseback riding, fishing or another one of the many other activities that isn't so simple to a child who faces the reality of cancer every day. Every day, except for the one week out of the year that Camp Quality provides - an opportunity to feel like a kid again.

They remember how to smile, laugh, have fun and they make friends with other kids who know and understand what has brought them all together. It's through all the many activities and new relationships with other young victims and survivors that the most valuable gift from Camp Quality is given, HOPE.

THEY NEED OUR HELP AND SUPPORT
I have personally been to camp at least four times with the wonderful people at Camp Quality of NorthWestern Missouri. So I have seen first hand the difference they are making in these children's lives through their love and compassion. Besides being inspired by the children themselves, I'm equally inspired by the many volunteers that make the week possible. Particularly the many young men and women who I see year after year who act as camper companions/escorts, making sure the children are safe and enjoying themselves, never leaving their side. These escorts/companions were once campers themselves and have never forgotten the kindness shown to them.
